“We are excited to announce that KPN has extended a contract with OPT/NET for another 3-years., KPN is an incumbent Tier-1 operator and is one of the Netherlands' largest Telecommunications Service Providers. Our renewed collaboration aims to enhance assurance, monitoring, and automated management of KPN's complete fixed network infrastructure by leveraging “best of breed” OptOSS AI platform,” says OPT/NET CEO/CTO Taras Matselyukh.

Our collaboration aligns with KPN's ongoing commitment to technological excellence. Notably, during the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, KPN's mobile network was honored again as the best in the Netherlands by benchmark organisation umlaut, achieving an impressive 989 points out of maximum 1,000— this is a new record in umlaut's international benchmark testing.

OPT/NET's collaboration with KPN began back in February 2020, to assist the Dutch operator with network automation and service assurance. In recognition of our innovative partnership, KPN and OPT/NET were honored with the joint CoSta Award in September 2021. This award celebrates the most innovative and impactful collaborations between corporate entities and start-ups in the Netherlands. The VNO NCW jury praised KPN for its role as a frontrunner in engaging with start-ups, highlighting the strategic relevance and social impact of the partnership with OPT/NET.

By 2023, KPN's fiber network had expanded to cover more than half of the Netherlands,  reaching more than 4.26 million households. Together with Glaspoort KPN now provides fiber coverage to 63% of Dutch households. In total, KPN now serves more than 11.4 million mobile subscribers and 4.4 million broadband customers.

By implementing OptOSS AI for autonomous  network operations, KPN aims to achieve:

  • Proactive Automated Monitoring: OptOSS AI's real-time analysis enables, in just a few seconds, the earliest possible  detection of anomalies in network telemetry, allowing KPN to address potential issues before they impact customers.
  • Intelligent Resource Alarm Automated Monitoring and Management: KPN is leveraging OptOSS AI’s patented approach for detecting anomalous patterns in network telemetry and finding root cause at a network device level.  By detecting & clustering similar anomalies, OptOSS AI helps KPN's operational teams focus on the most pressing issues first, and helps dispatch maintenance tickets to engineers automatically.
  • Improving overall Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR): By streamlining the root cause analysis process, OptOSS AI facilitates much faster resolution times for network incidents overall. There is an opportunity to improve the MTTR from hours to minutes.

We look forward to a continued fruitful 3-year collaboration with KPN, setting new benchmarks in network reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction!
